It just takes one person to feel your suffering.
It just takes one person to believe in the power of healing.
It takes one person's acceptance of that belief.
And one person's strength to hold on to it...no matter what.
Having someone to share this role is important, someone to believe it even when you don't. The belief you hold onto yourself is the one that matters.
Acknowledge that the body is suffering, have regard for the suffering body, mind and spirit. It is a powerful force. But it is not more powerful than the will to overcome.
Regard for the body mind suffering, rest, nutrients, meditation, tender loving care and step by step, slowly the belief becomes bigger than the pain.
I watched this video a few years ago and doubted it's authenticity and after 10 years and 8 stints in rehabilitation and physical therapy I tried again. I walked in with a cane, exhausted from the 15 minute car ride there. The PT aide told me to get on the bike and see what I could do. I had just come for help with pain relief. I looked at her and said, oh, I don't do that. It took months of sitting on the bike, rocking my feet back and forth 3/4 inches. Now I am on the elliptical for 20 minutes and doing yoga. It's been 16 months. There have been many other things that have helped. Read the rest of my story and learn about all the things that contributed to the powerful belief that it could change...is it gone? No but my health is better and I am stronger. You never know what's next.
